While investigating a recent spike in school threats across the city, Stockton police arrested a 15-year-old Lodi Unified School District student Tuesday.
The Stockton Police Department said the teenager was arrested after making a threatening video against a local elementary school. He could face criminal threatening charges, according to police.
“We want to make sure parents and students understand that making threats can lead to disciplinary action at their school, including potential legal consequences,” police said.
The Lodi Unified School District said the teenager attends Bear Creek High School in north Stockton. District officials said he was not on campus Tuesday but “will face appropriate disciplinary action.”
“Please remind your children that all safety threats will be taken seriously. Students who make threats against any school will face disciplinary action and potential arrest by law enforcement,” said the district officials.
The teenager is the second Stockton student arrested in as many days for threatening violence at school.
On Monday, the Stockton Police Department arrested a 16-year-old boy who made threats against the Lincoln Unified School District. He is facing criminal threat charges.
In Manteca, a 13-year-old girl was also arrested Monday after authorities say she posted threats aimed at Sequoia Elementary School and Manteca High School. The Manteca Police Department said the girl was booked into the San Joaquin County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of making criminal threats and threatening a public official.
